Наслов: On geometrical methods in bordism theory

Апстракт: In the first part of the talk we give a brief exposition of the structure
of the unitary and special unitary bordism rings. Toric topology provides
us with a new geometric approach to calculations in bordism theory, which
allows to represent generators of the U- and SU-bordism rings as well as
other important bordism classes by toric manifolds, quasitoric manifolds,
and Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces in toric varieties. This approach will be
discussed in the second part of this talk.
